I first met Dominik Grenzler in a really unusual way: I was playing my closing support set for Nik Bärtsch's Ronin, in a Zurich's club, when out of the blue he quickly came by, asking for a visit card, disappearing as quick as he came. After this first swiftly encounter we started exchanging emails and meeting few times, drinking beers and talking about our fascination for music, gear and sounds. It was at this point that Dominik expressed his interest to release an album of mine on his label EndTitles.
Back then we only scheduled when to possibly release this work, but I had no clue what my output would have been. The idea float in the ether for a while, until I started recording few improvised sessions at my studio, based only on treated baritone guitars and loops, with a minimalistic setup I was preparing for a gig in the US.
The material I chose for the album was created in a very short period between July and August 2018, during the warmest phase of the summer. These tracks evoke an arctic feel, like cold winds blowing on ice and snow, deep paced moods, like trying to chill the heatwave with music. Due to these feelings I named these pieces after Swiss glaciers (a kind of landscape together with mountains which I always found inspiring in many ways), as if these tunes would be a soundtrack dedicated to these.
